Kramer VP-724xl scales any video signal into RGBHV (VGA) or HDTV pixel signal. Moreover, this device provides glitch-free 8-input switching in the presentation mode. This scaler / switcher scales any video signal composite, s-Video (Y/C), graphic signals (from VGA to UXGA), and DVI signals up or down to a user-selectable graphics (VESA) or HDTV output resolution as well as some other special extensions The numerous supported formats include the popular VGA (640 x 480), SVGA (800 x 600), XGA (1024 x 768), SXGA (1280 x 1024), UXGA (1600 x 1200), 1024 x 852i, 1024 x 1024i, 1366 x 768, 1365 x 1024, 1280 x 720, 480p, 720p and 1080i. Users may also define a custom resolution as needed.
VP-724xl is equipped with two outputs with HD15 connectors, which can be used as graphic signal or HDTV outputs. The front panel has additional BLANK, MUTE, FREEZE, RESET TO VGA (hardware high resolution reset) buttons and PANEL LOCK button for locking the front panel to prevent accidental button pressing. Moreover, VP-724xl also has a built-in 10W sound amplifier sufficient for powering up the speakers in the presentation room. The sound volume can be quickly and easily adjusted by means of the front panel buttons.
VP-724xl handles digital signal processing correcting the master copy errors and restoring the video signal abundant in lines and image elements for optimum resolution displayed by means LCD and plasma panels and DLP projectors. Image can be scaled both up and down. For example, VGA signal can be transformed into UXGA whereas SXGA can be easily transformed into SVGA. The device firmware contains a unique video graphics scaling module based on image quality improvement algorithms. The VP-724xl users may change any image parameters for quality correction or improvement including 3 : 2 or 2 : 2 field sequencing. The VP-724xl is design to enable image quality improvement by means of reducing color noise levels. The device is equipped with a PIP unit enabling pasting of video image into graphics and vice versa, changing the scale, size and position of the pasted imaged within the screen space. The eight audio inputs are switched in the audio-follow-video (AFV) mode. The devices can be operated by means of the front panel buttons, the IR remote control unit, or via RS-232 interface. All the settings are performed using an intuitive on-screen interface.
